Fifty, Held Gently
Anindo — 50th Birthday at 28 Kothi, Jaipur
Anindo’s 50th birthday unfolded in Jaipur’s 28 Kothi, a space where design feels less like décor and more like atmosphere. Conceived by Jaipur-based Lebanese designer Nur Kaoukji, creative director of Ecru, the home carries a soothing luxury — individually styled rooms, soft textures, and a sense of stillness that invites you to slow down. It felt like the right setting for this milestone. Not loud. Not performative. Just present. The kind of place where conversations linger and moments find their own pace.
The evening moved easily through the house, held together by warmth rather than agenda. Friends gathered, laughter rose and settled, and stories surfaced — some recent, some well-worn, all familiar. There were no grand announcements, only shared glances, quiet smiles, and the comfort of being among people who have walked alongside one another through time. The aesthetics of 28 Kothi didn’t overshadow the celebration; they framed it — allowing emotion to remain at the centre.
For us, the resonance of this celebration deepened knowing its place within a larger family story. Jyoti, Anindo’s wife, whose parents’ Sathabhishekam in Pune we had documented earlier, stood at the heart of this moment as well — a natural continuation of a journey we’ve been quietly witnessing. Where her parents marked sixty years of togetherness at home, this evening marked fifty years of a life well-lived, surrounded by chosen family. At BabyTCompany, these follow-on stories matter. Different milestones, different spaces — but the same quiet thread of love, continuity, and belonging. And inside the calm beauty of 28 Kothi, that thread felt especially luminous.
